New Jersey's Favorite Beach Destination

Spring Lake, NJ has been a unique resort for more than 100 years. We offer two miles of beach and the longest non-commercial boardwalk in New Jersey. Relaxation, not achievement, is the main reason for doing nothing during your relaxing beach getaway.

SEE VICTORIAN HOMES: At the turn of the 20th Century, it was one of the renowned luxurious vacation retreats for the wealthy and privileged. It has earned a place in history by maintaining its architectural integrity, old-world charm and grace. "Spring Lake" is a multitude of underground springs surrounded by wide tree-lined streets, hidden paths and rock gardens peeking through the weeping willows along the shoreline.
JENKINSON'S AQUARIUM: Exhibits such as Atlantic sharks, Pacific sharks, coral reefs, penguins, and seals give you the opportunity to get up close to animals from around the globe. Another attraction, the touch tank, allows visitors to touch live animals ranging from a sea star to a sting ray!

Jenkinson's Aquarium is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA). AZA is America's leading accrediting organization for zoos and aquariums, and accredits only those institutions that have achieved rigorous, professional standards for animal welfare and management, veterinary care, wildlife conservation and research, education, safety, staffing, and more.

The aquarium is open all year for your convenience, closing only on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day. If you would like information on the aquarium, please call (732) 899-1212.

STAY AT THE INNS: Located in a town that is delightfully out of date and where time seems to stand still, there is a distinguished collection of Victorian Bed and Breakfast Inns and Boutique Hotels (circa 1870-1888). They are unequaled for personalized service and amenities, genuinely bringing romance, elegance and history to life.

Whether enjoying gourmet breakfast in a grand dining room or by a warming fireplace, relaxing on a breezy open air porch or painting in a wildflower garden, each season the Historic Inns of Spring Lake welcome you to enjoy the privacy and tranquility of their seaside paradise.
RIDE A BICYCLE: Cruise down the two-mile boardwalk beside a pristine beach in a seaside town. Stroll upon a very scenic lake with three covered bridges and swans. Cherry blossoms drip their pink lavender leaves on the sidewalks and streets.

CROSS THE FOOTBRIDGES: Perhaps ride a bicycle on a two-mile boardwalk beside a pristine beach in a seaside town. Stroll upon a very scenic lake with three covered bridges and swans. Cherry blossoms drip their pink lavender leaves on the sidewalks and streets.

GOLF: as we know it today, enjoyed at one of our local, Spring Lake golf clubs, is very different from its origins as a game played on the eastern coast of Scotland in the Kingdom of Fife during the 15th century. Players would hit a pebble around a natural course of sand dunes, rabbit runs and tracks using a stick or primitive club. Today, we invite you to enjoy golf the New Jersey Shore way at one of our Spring Lake golf courses, celebrating each glorious round with family and friends.

SEA GIRT: How about starting the day with a bicycle ride into this charming town south of Spring Lake and visit DECORATE ON A DIME to explore vintage one-of-a-kind finds and antiques. Relive your youth in this quaint shop!

Then have lunch at ROD'S OLD IRISH TAVERN. It's a scene ....a turn of the century old-fashioned saloon... one of the most popular destinations on the shore. Casual, lively, burgers and hand-cut steaks to salad and seafood. After lunch grab an ice cream cone or try the award winning custard across the street at SURFSIDE FROZEN CUSTARD. Perhaps on your ride back, you cruise the boardwalk and take a look at the SEA GIRT LIGHTHOUSE.

FISHING & BOATING: Let the Fresh Air and Waterways Seduce You for a Day.

Replicas of Mississippi Riverboats, the River Belle and River Queen cruise the calm inland waterways of the Manasquan and Metedeconk Rivers, Point Pleasant Canal and Barnegat Bay. Mahogany decks and unparalleled views make these journeys perfect for sightseeing, dining or dancing the night away. 732-528-6620
SPRING LAKE THEATRE & LIBRARY: For ninety years the Community House has served the people of the Spring Lake area nobly. During the past thirty-six years especially, it has been the home of the highly acclaimed Spring Lake Theatre Company and a children's Theatre Workshop and Dance Program. This is a very rare place that is constantly alive with the arts, children's programs and civic groups, as well as the Spring Lake Public Library.
